What Will Nicole Be? is a heartwarming children’s book about Nicole, a curious and thoughtful third-grader, as she navigates Career Day at school. Unsure of what she wants to be when she grows up, Nicole embarks on a journey of self-discovery with the support of her loving grandma and her inspiring teacher, Mrs. Dooley. Both characters are based on cherished individuals from the author’s own life, bringing warmth, wisdom, and encouragement to Nicole’s story.
Through meaningful conversations and personal reflection, Nicole discovers that what brings her the most joy may also be her greatest dream. This uplifting story celebrates the excitement of learning, the importance of dreaming big, and the special people who guide us along the way.

Meet Dr. Shante' Morton
Dr. Shante’ Nicole Morton is a devoted wife, mother, and accomplished educator with over 22 years of experience inspiring students and fostering a love for learning. She is married to Alphonzo Morton III and is the proud mother of four children—TJ, Shineequa, Justin, and Alphonzo Morton IV—and grandson, Shiloh.
Currently serving as a reading interventionist and a leader in her community, Dr. Morton is also a proud board member of the West Alabama Literary Council, where she helps champion literacy efforts across the region. Her passion for education shines through in her debut children’s book, What Will Nicole Be? She hopes to inspire young readers to explore their dreams and find joy in the things they love.
Dr. Morton gives all honor and praise to God for His wisdom and guidance throughout her journey. She thanks Him daily for the strength and ability to impact the lives of others through her work and faith.
